Skylar Mayberry-Mayes

Dr. Skylar Mayberry-Mayes was appointed to the Des Moines School Board in April 2024 to fill a vacancy and is now running for election. He is the Executive Director of The Jacobson Institute at Grand View University. His career has included roles in finance and corporate citizenship at companies like Bankers Trust, Nationwide, and Principal Financial Group. Mayberry-Mayes holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa, an MBA from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. in Education from Drake University. He is actively involved in the community, serving on boards for organizations such as the Des Moines Public Schools Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Oakridge Neighborhood.
