Stephen Little is a candidate for City of Marion Mayor in Marion, North Carolina — 2025 General Election. Running as Nonpartisan.
Stephen "Steve" Little was born in Smithfield, North Carolina. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1973 and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1977. After law school, he moved to Marion and began his career as an attorney. He is currently the senior attorney at the law firm of Little, Lattimore, and Ledford, P.A., focusing on elder law. His long career in public service began in 1985 when he was elected to the Marion City Council, where he served for 24 consecutive years. In 2009, he was elected Mayor of Marion and is currently serving his fourth four-year term. Little is also an author and railroad historian, known for his one-man performance portraying a railroad convict from the 1870s to teach about the region's history. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, where he has taught Sunday school and served in various leadership roles.
