Steve Brandt

Steve Brandt is a fifth-generation Minnesotan who has lived in Minneapolis for most of his adult life. He is a retired journalist, having worked for 40 years as a reporter for the Star Tribune, where he covered state government, Hennepin County, and Minneapolis. After retiring in 2016, he became more involved in community activism, including serving for five years on the city's capital budgeting task force. He was first elected to the Board of Estimate and Taxation in 2021 and currently serves as its president.
