Steven A. Salter has been a resident of Whitehall for over 40 years. He is a Vietnam veteran and previously worked at Howmet, a major local employer. His involvement in city government began with attending council meetings, which led to an appointment to the Planning Commission and later the City Council, where he served as mayor pro tem before being elected mayor.
