Susan Johnson was elected to the Town Board in 2023. She has an extensive background in local government service, having been on the Cornelius Planning Board for eight years, serving the last two as chair. She has also served on the Land Development Code Advisory Board, the Growth Management Task Force, and the Mayoral Housing Committee. Johnson has a background in real estate. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master's from Queens University. She is a mother of two sons.
