Sylvia Pate

Sylvia Pate has family roots in Holden Beach dating back to 1968. She has over 35 years of experience in economic, community, and workforce development, including serving as the Director of the Regional Center for Economic, Community and Professional Development at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke before retiring in 2011. She holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Management from UNCP, a Bachelor's from Western Carolina University, and an Associate's from Isothermal Community College. She has served on the town's Planning and Zoning Board and the Brunswick County Association of Realtors' Grievance Committee.
