Tamara Sheffield has been a resident of Salisbury for over 30 years and was elected to the City Council in 2017. She was appointed Mayor in early 2025 to fill a vacancy. Prior to her election, she regularly attended City Council meetings for over six years. For 29 years, she was employed by Frito-Lay, where she advanced from a Route Sales Associate to a Senior Key Account Manager. Sheffield is also a co-founder of Salisbury Pride and has been actively involved with various community organizations, including the Piedmont Players Theatre.
