Tania Nyman is a long-time community advocate, writer, and former university instructor running as a Democratic candidate to represent Louisiana's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Raised in New Orleans, she taught English at Louisiana State University before leaving to focus on advocacy work concerning public education, fair redistricting, and local governance. Nyman previously ran for the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in 2018 and Metro Council in 2020.
