Tara Benally

Tara Benally is a community advocate with deep roots in the Navajo Nation, growing up in San Juan County, Utah, with Hopi and Navajo heritage. She is committed to health care, education, and economic development. With a background in construction and community resilience, she worked for the Utah Navajo Trust Fund before becoming Field Director for the Rural Utah Project in 2018. In this role, she organized voter registration and engagement efforts across the Navajo Nation, navigating challenges like internet access and the COVID-19 pandemic. She filed to run for Utah House District 69 in 2026 as a Democrat but later withdrew from the primary.
