Thayer "bear" Havard Spencer

Thayer "Bear" Spencer, a Republican from Selma, Alabama, is running for the State Senate District 23 seat in the 2026 general election. A healthcare professional, Spencer served in the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1994, including the Medical Corps, and is a graduate of Louisiana Tech.
