Thomas W. Lane, also known as Tom, has lived in Butner since 1947. He holds a Bachelor of Science from NC State University and a Master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. He previously served as the Mayor of Butner from 2007 to 2015. His career includes roles as a Director and Assistant Director for various mental health and rehabilitation programs and as a program specialist for the NC Recreation Commission. He is running for re-election to the Town Council.
