Tom Griego

Tom Griego is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, having assumed office in 2015. His legal career began after he was admitted to the bar in 1991. Prior to becoming a judge, he worked in the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office starting in 1994, where he held various roles including criminal prosecutor and, later, handling civil cases. In 2011, he was promoted to the specialized Anti-Gang Division. His earlier career includes serving as a department advocate for the Los Angeles Police Department and as a chief of staff for a Los Angeles City Council member. Griego earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1980, a Master of Science from California State University, Los Angeles in 1984, and a Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School in 1990.
