His career in public service includes roles with State Senator Catherine Abate, Councilmember Christine Quinn, and NYS Comptroller Carl McCall. He also served as the Director of External Affairs at Hudson River Park Friends and worked for People for the American Way. He is the first openly-gay assembly member to represent the district.
