She also holds a certificate in Funeral Directing. Professionally, she serves as the Board Relations Assistant Coordinator for the Southern University System Board of Supervisors. Taylor-Jarrell has a long history of involvement with the Southern University Alumni Federation, where she has held leadership positions including First Vice President and president of the Houston Chapter. She is the mother of one son.
