Tyrone F. Muhammad is a Chicago social change advocate, author, entrepreneur, and founder of Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change (ECCSC), an organization committed to helping formerly incarcerated people reintegrate into society. Raised in Englewood, he served 21 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following a 1997 murder conviction. While incarcerated he taught self-development programs, co-founded the Education Justice Project with the University of Illinois, and earned college degrees and vocational certifications. After his June 2017 release he incorporated ECCSC, authored "Men on the Inside: Observations of Deviance, 13 Prison Character Types," and hosts "The Frontline Show," a radio program on community and social issues.
