Vaughn Stewart, a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, has represented District 19 in Montgomery County since assuming office on January 9, 2019. He was born in Anniston, Alabama, on November 15, 1988. Stewart earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania before obtaining a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law. Before entering public service, he practiced as an attorney. Within the legislature, Stewart has been a member of the Environment and Transportation Committee. In 2023, he was appointed to the role of Chief Deputy Majority Whip. His legislative work focuses on key issues such as environmental protection, housing, and consumer rights.
