Virginia Ryan has been a resident of Quincy for over 20 years, where she raised her two children. Originally from Dorchester, she grew up in a large family and attended public schools before attending Quincy College. Her professional background includes 25 years in various accounting positions at Gillette, work in healthcare administration, real estate professional and a part-time role at AAA from which she recently retired. Virginia became more politically involved following the 2016 national election and was inspired to run for local office due to low voter turnout in a 2023 special election. She has volunteered with local civic groups such as Quincy Votes and A Just Quincy.
