Vivian Jones is the longest-serving mayor of Wake Forest, first elected in 2001 and having served six consecutive terms. Prior to becoming mayor, she served on the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners from 1999 to 2001. She has been involved in numerous organizations, including the GoTriangle Board of Trustees, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the NC Mayors Association. Before her career in public service, she was the co-owner of Jovi's Kitchen & Market from 1991 to 2003 and worked as an Administrative Assistant for Variety Wholesalers from 1981 to 1992. She attended the Woman's College of UNC (now UNC-Greensboro).
