W. Edward Crockett

W. Edward 'Ed' Crockett is a Maine businessman and politician who has served in the Maine House of Representatives since December 2018, representing Portland (District 43, then District 112 after redistricting). Born in Portland, he grew up on Munjoy Hill as the youngest of eight children in a working-class family. He graduated from Portland High School in 1979, earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and journalism from the University of Maine in 1983, and an MBA in marketing/sales from Boston College in 1986. He spent decades as a sales and marketing executive, including as vice president of marketing for Lepage Bakeries, category manager for Hannaford Bros, director of sales for Oakhurst Dairy, and president of Capt'n Eli's Soda. He authored the memoir 'The Ghosts of Walter Crockett.' A longtime Democrat, he unenrolled in 2025 to register as an independent.
