A small business owner and community leader, he brings over 30 years of experience in economic development and youth advocacy. Raised in Mount Vernon, New York, Kirkland is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he was a four-year All-American track and field athlete. He also serves as the founding president of the 100 Black Men of Prince George's County, a prominent mentorship organization. Kirkland's platform is focused on creating safer communities, improving local schools, and expanding both economic and healthcare opportunities throughout the district.
