William "Bill" Folden

William "Bill" Folden is a Republican State Senator representing Legislative District 4 in Maryland. A lifelong resident of Frederick County, his public service career began at age 17 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Military Police Corps and as an infantry sniper. Following his military service, Folden had an extensive career in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff for Frederick County and as a police officer for the city of Frederick. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Frederick Community College. Before his election to the Senate in 2022, Folden served in the Maryland House of Delegates for District 3B from 2015 to 2019. He assumed his Senate office on January 11, 2023.
