Dennis Gay, a lifelong resident of Indian Trail, was elected to the Town Council in November 2021 and was sworn in as Mayor Pro Tem in December 2023. He graduated from Sun Valley High School and Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. His professional experience is in international trade within the steel industry. He has previously served on the town's Stormwater Committee and as chairman of the Planning Board, and is a member of the Indian Trail Lion's Club.
