William Shin is a candidate for Judge of the Superior Court Office No. 73 in Los Angeles County, California — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Nonpartisan (Registered Democrat).

William Shin was appointed to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 17, 2025, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Julie Fox Blackshaw. Prior to his appointment, he served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Attorney General's Office starting in 2005. He also served as a Staff Judge Advocate and Deputy Staff Judge Advocate at the California Air National Guard beginning in 2019, and was an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate at the United States Air Force Reserve from 2011 to 2019. Previously, he was a Deputy District Attorney at the Riverside County District Attorney's Office from 2004 to 2005 and an Associate at Franscell Strickland Roberts & Lawrence from 2001 to 2004. Shin earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School.
