Yan Xiong is a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York's 6th Congressional District. He is a Chinese-American human rights activist, military officer, and Protestant chaplain. Born in China, Xiong was a student leader during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and arrived in the United States as a political refugee in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years, completing two tours in Iraq, and became a commissioned officer. He previously ran for Congress in 2022.
