Pedro 'Antonio' Casas was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved to Baldwin Park, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of La Verne in 1986 and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1996. Casas served for over 29 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel in September 2023. His military career included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, a post-doctoral fellowship in Forensic Psychology, and serving as chief of behavioral health departments at medical centers in Honolulu and Washington, D.C.
