Abraham 'AJ' Daoud has a background in both public service and private business. He began his career as a police officer and later served as the Executive Director for the Police Athletic League (PAL), a non-profit focused on youth development. He transitioned to the private sector, becoming a small business owner in Pilot Mountain, where he owns and operates the Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Daoud earned an associate degree from Miami Dade College in 1979, a bachelor's degree from Barry University in 1995, and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. He has served in various community roles, including Chairman of the Pilot Mountain Planning and Zoning Board and as a member of the Mayor's Downtown Task Force. He was also appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to serve as a commissioner for the North Carolina Lottery.
