Andy Barr is an eighth-generation Kentuckian and a native of Lexington, a graduate of Henry Clay High School and the University of Virginia, and a 2001 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. A Republican who has represented Kentucky's 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House since 2013, he was the first member of Kentucky's federal delegation to endorse Donald Trump in 2024 and chaired Trump's primary campaign in the Commonwealth. Barr describes himself as a conservative who believes limited government and free enterprise give Americans the greatest opportunity to pursue happiness; he resides in Lexington with his wife, Davis, and their four children.
