Charles Booker is a lifelong Kentuckian, a former Kentucky state representative (District 43, 2019–2020), and the son of a West Louisville family. He grew up rationing insulin and built the 'hood to the holler' grassroots movement. He earned a B.S. in political science (2007) and a J.D. (2010) from the University of Louisville, and his career includes work with the Louisville Urban League, the Louisville Independent Business Alliance, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
