Angela Wokatsch Matthews is a Certified Public Accountant with over 26 years of experience, including a background in governmental and nonprofit accounting. She owns a CPA firm in downtown Statesville. Born and raised in Iredell County, she attended Catawba College in Salisbury, where she earned a B.A. in Accounting. Matthews previously ran for County Commissioner in the 2022 and 2024 Republican primaries. She has served as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of the Piedmont and has provided accounting assistance to several other local nonprofits. Her daughter, Abby Trent, serves on the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education.
