Anne Backus

Anne Backus is a retired Y-12 project manager with 33 years of experience managing projects and teams. A resident of Tennessee House District 33 for over 45 years, she has deep community ties through church, schools, and volunteer work, including CASA. Born in Pensacola, Florida, she earned a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University. Backus is running for the Tennessee House to advocate for public education, healthcare access, affordability, and constituent service. Motivated by past campaigns, she aims to refocus government on serving people and strengthening communities. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party and lists Gun Safety as an issue.
