Arnita Dula has a background in public service, having worked as a public school educator and later as the deputy city attorney for Hickory for over 17 years before retiring in 2024. She earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Law in 2001. Currently, she is of counsel with a law firm representing municipal clients. Her career also includes serving as in-house counsel for Guilford County Schools. She has received several awards, including the North Carolina Bar Association Citizen Lawyer Award in 2016.
