Bill Cassidy is an American physician and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Louisiana since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served in the Louisiana State Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives representing Louisiana's 6th congressional district. Cassidy earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University. Before entering politics, he worked as a physician and co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic.
