Byron D. Amos is a native Atlantan and a lifelong resident of the Vine City community. He is an entrepreneur, community organizer, and public education advocate with over 25 years of experience. Amos currently serves as the CEO of Capacity Builders Inc., a nonprofit focused on community development and civic engagement, and owns a private security company, End All Threat Security. Prior to his election to the City Council in 2021, he served as the District 2 representative on the Atlanta Board of Education, where he championed the reintroduction of vocational education and the creation of the school system's first-ever equity policy. He is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University. He has also completed the FBI Citizens Academy, the City of Atlanta Citizen Police Academy, and the Citizens Fire and Rescue Academy.
