Dr. Stephen Owens is a parent of three Atlanta Public Schools (APS) students and a 10-year resident of the West End neighborhood. He has a doctorate in Education, Administration, and Policy from the University of Georgia. His professional experience includes working as a teacher for five years, a data and policy analyst at the Georgia Department of Education, and the Director of Education at the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute (GBPI). In his current role at Brown's Promise, he works to promote school integration and resource equity.
