Carlton Jackson was appointed to the Salisbury City Council in November 2024 to fill a vacancy. A Salisbury native, he graduated from Salisbury High School and the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, serving for three years on active duty and 12 years in the National Guard. He has a long history of community involvement, including serving as chair of the Rowan County Department of Social Services and on the boards of Rowan Helping Ministries and Waterworks Visual Arts. He is employed by Duke Energy.
