Christopher Johnson is the current mayor of Agawam, having won the November 2023 general election. This is not his first time in the role; he previously served as Agawam's first mayor for five two-year terms from 1990 to 2000. After his initial tenure as mayor, he returned to his law practice. He has also served as a town solicitor and was elected to the City Council in 2012, eventually becoming council president in 2018. Before being reelected as mayor, Johnson worked at the law firm of Johnson, Sclafani and Moriarty.
