Cory Booker is an American politician and attorney serving as a United States Senator from New Jersey since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 38th Mayor of Newark from 2006 to 2013, and on the Newark City Council from 1998 to 2002. Booker received degrees from Stanford University, the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and his J.D. from Yale Law School. In the Senate, he has been a leading advocate for criminal justice reform and economic equality.
