Craig S. Barnes was appointed as a Judge to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County by Governor Jerry Brown in October 2018. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner at the law firm Clyde & Co in 2018 and spent over three decades at Sedgwick LLP, from 1985 to 2017, where he served as an associate, partner, and managing partner. His legal practice of over 30 years focused on catastrophic loss litigation, complex business litigation, and product liability. Barnes earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, a Master of City Planning degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.A. from the City University of New York at Hunter College. He currently serves in the dependency division at the Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court.
