Dan Green

Dan Green is a U.S. Navy Reserve officer (Commander, selected for promotion to Captain) and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy & Force Development, appointed by President Trump in 2019. The son of an Army veteran and a school teacher, he grew up in Indian River County, Florida. He earned a bachelor's degree from American University (1998), a graduate degree from Florida State University (1999), and a Ph.D. from George Washington University (2012), focusing on political science and international relations. He was working at the Pentagon during the September 11, 2001 attack, then joined the U.S. Navy and completed four tours in the Middle East and Central Asia, including deployments alongside SEAL teams in Fallujah and southern Afghanistan and service in Baghdad and Kabul.
