Dante Anderson is a native of Charlotte and was raised in public and low-income housing. She is a graduate of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Anderson earned a dual BS Degree in Electrical Engineering and Cinema Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema Studies from New York University's The Tisch School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has over 25 years of experience as a global business executive in technology, strategic marketing, and international business. She was first elected to the City Council in 2022 and is serving her second term as Mayor Pro Tem, the first district representative to hold the role. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she advocates for equitable opportunity.
