Dave Hall

Dave Hall, whose full name is Orlin David Hall, is the incumbent District Court Judge for North Carolina's 16th Judicial District, Seat 1. He was first elected in 2018, defeating the incumbent. Before becoming a judge, Hall worked as a civil rights attorney at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, where he focused on issues like policing reform, driver's license restoration, and expungement clinics. His legal team helped over 5,000 individuals across North Carolina with expunging past criminal records. He also ran his own general practice law firm covering criminal defense, family law, and other civil matters. Hall earned both his Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Manhattanville College.
