Edwin D. Clontz is an incumbent judge for North Carolina's 40th Judicial District. He was appointed to the court in April 2011 by then-Governor Bev Perdue. Before his appointment, Clontz's career included serving as a magistrate and later as the chief assistant clerk of the Superior Court in Buncombe County. In May 2025, he was recognized for 30 years of service to the state of North Carolina.
