Edwin M. Shorty, Jr. has served as the Constable of Second City Court in Algiers since 2013. A New Orleans native, he began his career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office while attending Southern University at New Orleans. After graduating from Southern University Law Center in 2002, he became an attorney specializing in bankruptcy and personal injury law. He was appointed to the Southern University System Board of Supervisors in 2019.
