H. Powell Dew Jr.

H. Powell Dew Jr. is a former member of the Stantonsburg Town Council, having lost a re-election bid in 2019. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. His career has included working in property management, as a house parent at a Baptist Children's Home, and in various supervisory roles for the Edwards Group of companies in Kinston, NC. He has also taught basic math and algebra as an adjunct instructor at Lenoir Community College. Since 2004, he has served as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer in Wayne County. He and his wife, Sharon, reside in Stantonsburg.
