Harry McLaughlin was first elected to the Salisbury City Council in 2021 and was named Mayor Pro Tem in February 2025. He is the owner of McLaughlin's Grocery on West Monroe Street. Prior to this, he had a 15-year career with the U.S. Secret Service, protecting presidents and investigating financial crimes. He holds a business degree from Morehouse College. After retiring from the Secret Service, he changed his party affiliation to "unaffiliated," stating he was tired of party politics.
