What is Heather Barton running for?
- Race
- U.S. Representative (Colorado, District 3)
Heather Barton is an unaffiliated candidate for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District. Born into a Navy family, she moved every 6 to 18 months as a child and grew up in a conservative Christian household. After spending a year researching communities across the U.S., she settled in Pueblo, Southern Colorado. Over the past decade she has worked three jobs, advocated for workers' rights and fair wages, and stood up to corporations over their treatment of her and her coworkers. She is the parent of a special-needs, autistic son, which she says deepened her understanding of the challenges families face around affordable housing, accessible healthcare, and community support. Her campaign priorities include corporate accountability, affordable housing, fair wages and labor rights, safer neighborhoods, accessible healthcare, environmental responsibility, and support for people experiencing homelessness.
