His career spans over 25 years, starting as an Assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore City from 1996 to 2002. He later co-founded the law firm Bates & Garcia, P.C., where he worked as a defense attorney. As State's Attorney, he has focused on prosecuting violent offenders and addressing quality-of-life crimes.
