Jamezetta Bedford is a Certified Public Accountant with a local firm, focusing on tax work for small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Virginia and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before being elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2018, Bedford served three terms on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education, including as Chair and Vice Chair. She has also been president of the Democratic Women of Orange County and the local chapter of the Autism Society of North Carolina. She moved to Chapel Hill in 1992.
