Born and raised in the rural town of Pittsville, he earned a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Salisbury University in 2020. A lifelong Democrat, Schablein has extensive experience in politics, serving as the Chair of the Lower Shore Progressive Caucus and as Chief of Staff in the Maryland General Assembly for Delegate Robbyn Lewis. Dedicated to building the region's progressive movement, he has worked on numerous Democratic campaigns and championed legislation for livable wages and accessible healthcare for all.
