Jason Chavez is a candidate for Minneapolis City Council Ward 9 in Minneapolis, Minnesota — 2025 General Election. Running as Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.

Jason Chavez is the incumbent City Council member for Ward 9, first elected in 2021. He was born and raised in Minneapolis to Mexican immigrants. After his family experienced homelessness during the 2008 financial crisis, he became involved in his community. Chavez was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning a bachelor's degree from the College of Saint Scholastica in 2018. Before his election, he served as a Committee Legislative Aide in the Minnesota House of Representatives for Reps. Carlos Mariani and Mohamud Noor. He is the first LGBTQ+ Latino to be elected to the Minneapolis City Council.
